Well a few challenges this week, work has been very strange, we have to move out of our room for major redevelopment so its been quite physical, lots of lifting boxes and cleaning which means I have burned more calories but also means I have been very tired and wanting to eat all the lovely chocolate which the children in my class gave me this week for the end of the school year. I ate 5 malteesers which made me feel very sick, so I will not be trying that again for a while. We had a night out and I couldn't really choose what to eat so did not take my xenical for that meal, lovely food and ridiculous amounts of wine were consumed but later it all came back up and left me feeling terribly ill the next day. Took my pill the next day at breakfast and so on, but have had several visits to the loo today even though I am back to a very low fat diet. I am guessing it will take a few days for my system to get back to normal. Don't fancy over indulgence again any time soon, which I guess is the whole point. Lessons learned this week for me.
Percieved side effects: feeling sick and being sick when eating high fat meal but that could also be caused by the amount of wine I drank. Several visits to the loo with loose stools (yuk).
Weight Loss: 2lb toatl 8lbin three weeks.

Week 2
Well, I'm still here and still have had no adverse side effects, this is the week when I usually could eat us out of house and home (hormonal) probably like most women but because I have been taking my little blue pills I dared not eat excessively. I am starting to realax a bit more with it this week too, during week 1 I hardly ate any fat what so ever just in case but this week I have allowed my self a little more.
Most foods I have eaten have contained no more than 5gms of fat per 100gms but ocassionally I have eaten a bit higher fat foods, such as crumpets with light margarine. Even light margarine (Flora Light) is 38% fat but because I used only a very small amount on no fat crumpets the overall fat content of them is fairly balanced. Yum Yum.
Weigh in tomorrow but as I mentioned its my hormonal week and have had terrible pain and bloating so I think I am carrying quite a bit of water so am not hoping for too much. I will post tomorrow after the result.
This week.
Perceived side effects. None
Weight: Lost -2lb
Total weight lost in 2 weeks 6lb.

Day 7
Well day seven has arrived, the last day of my first week using Xenical and so far no problems as far as I can tell. No urgent toilet visits, no being sick, no leaking. Feeling more confident that I can win the fight and lose weight now, well more confident than last week, I had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning and it looks like I lost 5lb going from 18st to 17st 9lb. Thats a great first week, when I usually start my healthy eating regime I usually have lost only 2 - 3lb the first week so this is a litle more. I am hoping to increase my activity level next week too although I know I will lose more like 1-2lb next week. Got to go to work now but may post some more later.
Day 6
Well so far so good, feeling much better today, I'm putting feeling ill yesterday down to dehydration, I must have drunk about 3.5 litres of water yesterday and I have tried to drink about the same today with the weather being so hot.
Got my blood test results from the doctor everything is fine, no signs of any onset diabetes so I'm good to carry on with the tablets and healthy eating.
Todays Menu...
Breakfast: 2 weetabix with skimmed milk and honey, plus a banana smoothies made with one banana 250ml skimmed milk and eight ice cubes blitzed. Yum Yum and very full
Lunch: cous cous salad, yogurt, grapes and satsuma
Dinner: large salad half a tin of tuna in brine low fat cottage cheese and .... wait for it..... 200g of oven.....CHIPS
had abot 1400 cals so far so may have some toast later if I feel the need.
I actually forgot to take my xenical at lunch time but there was not much fat in it anyway so it shouldn't make that much difference. Feeling great toady, been to hairdressers for my hair cutting which I love so everthing is positive at the moment although the weekend is looming and this is another time when I struggle to control my food intake. Watch this space for an update on that.

Day 5
Woke up, well when I say woke up what I actually mean is my alarm went off and I have been in bed all night, I would say I have extended blinks but not really slept for more than half hour at any time through the night. I am feeling terrible, I have a terrible headache and am feeling very very sick, my nose is all stuffed and all I want is some sleep. I eventually make the desicion to call in work sick and try to get some rest. I sleep until 10:30am before getting out of bed still feeling blerghhhh...
I am hungry but feeling sick, one glass of water down I am starting to think I might be able to eat something. I am hoping that I am just feeling bad from lack of sleep over the last few days and it is not a side effect of the tablets. The temperature is the hottest it has been in a decade so I expect lots of people are having sleepless nights. Not had any effects from the higher fat kiev meal yet that I ate last night.
5pm feeling much better have eaten some toast, a tuna salad sandwich, low fat yogurt and a FAB iced lolly, taken two pills so far today now am feeling fine. Discovered today that Roche the company who manufacture Xenical/Orlistat run a telephone and internet support service to people on prescription. I registered and apparently I can expect some info in the post along with a tape measure and voucher for a collins fat and calorie counting book. I will let you know how that goes. Been to toilet a couple of times today not too bad a bit loose but completely managable, still to have evening meal but it is very hot and I can't really be bothered. In the end I had some cous cous with salad and a bit of feta cheese, then some cherries for dessert, it was nice but I have only eaten about 1000cals today which is not enough really but I suppose a one of will not hurt and if I feel hungry later I might have a low fat snack.

Day 4:
All good on the toilet front... Woke up at stupid o'clock (4.30am) today so had to make my fat and calorie intake last longer and that becomes quite hard as soon as I start to feel tired I usually want to refuel on high sugar high fat junk (normally chocolate) well that can not happen whislt taking orlistat. So I have...
Breakfast: weetabix with skimmed milk and honey with a banana
Lunch: Toast with marmite, low fat cottage cheese, snak a jacks, yogurt, and a piece of fruit.
Dinner: Salad, new potatoes (first boiled then sprinkled with garlic granules and salt and baked in oven, with a meat free (soya) chicken style kiev.
Snacks: seafood sticks with vinegar and one packet of jelly sweets.
The kiev was quite high in fat 12.8gm and 221 calories so about 55% of those calories are from fat this is a bit risky we will have to see what happens, I will keep you informed.
